AI Assistance Enhancements For Manager Evaluations In Redwood Performance Documents
Managers can now leverage the power of artificial intelligence (AI) to create multiple comments for the manager evaluation by clicking the AI Assist button at the page level.
The AI generated comments are added in fields where the manager hasn’t yet added any comments.
AI Assist at Page Level
This is how AI Assist works when clicked at the page level:
- Generates evaluation comments for a performance goal or development goal based on existing goal data and progress notes.
- Generates tips on how the employee can develop a competency.
- Summarizes overall comments from participants who have provided feedback on the performance document, anytime feedback, and the manager’s own comments.
Each AI Assist generated comment is editable for the manager.
This feature provides an easy way for managers to generate suggested comments to use for their evaluation in an employee’s performance document in one click.
Steps to Enable
AI assistance is only available in the Redwood performance document. The button to use AI assistance isn’t enabled by default. Use Visual Builder Studio to make this button visible.

Tips And Considerations
- The Generative AI features are currently available to customers hosted in the US and Canada data center regions. Refer to the Fusion Generative AI Data Center Region Availability document for more information about the specific data center regions where the features are available.
- If configured, the AI Assist button is also available in the comment text editor at the individual goal, competency, and overall summary section level to generate the AI just for that item.
- As Performance Documents and Participant Feedback, Check-in, and Goals Center are closely connected, in Redwood you can enable or disable these pages using the common ORA_HRA_PERFORMANCE_DOCUMENTS_AND_GOALS_REDWOOD_ENABLED profile option. These features can't be enabled individually.
