Speaking to The Times of India, AICTE chairman T G Sitharam said the Union education ministry will issue a gazette notification for creating new IDs for faculty members. "We have already approached the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) and they have accepted the proposal. It will remove the ghost faculty issue," Sitharam said.
The academic council at a meeting last week decided to allow the student concerned - Paramanand Mahaveer Toppannawar (26) - to attend classes from July 28.
It was noted that Pandit had skipped the conference of Vice-Chancellors of Central Universities without formal approval, they said.

Dr P Dayananda Pai - P Satisha Pai Govt First Grade College, Carstreet, Mangaluru, has reported about a 10% drop in admissions this year. "We used to have around 550 plus admissions every year for the first year at our college. However, it is stagnant at 500, and we are expecting more numbers since admissions are open until Aug 15," said principal Jayakara Bhandary. He added that BCA and BSc in computer science are the first choices, followed by BCom and other courses.
