GCAS was introduced two years ago to centralise the admission process for undergraduate courses in arts, commerce, and science. Earlier, individual universities conducted their own admissions, typically concluding within three rounds—two online and one offline. College administrators now argue that the centralised system has proven inefficient.
The second round of online counselling for engineering courses, which commenced on July 5 is witnessing an overwhelming response from aspiring students in Indore. Now, the colleges anticipate that the remaining over 10% of undergraduate seats would be filled during the next two days.
NEP 2020 marks a philosophical shift in Indian education, aiming to revive ancient ideals of self-realization and social contribution.
